Need to change a design or rearrange an existing PDF? Choose the right workflow below. desin edits its own design projects and provides local tools for existing PDF pages.

- For a design created in desin, open its saved project file in the editor, or create a new design from a template. Edit the text, layout, colors and objects before exporting.
- For an existing PDF, use Organize PDF to reorder, rotate or remove pages. Merge combines documents, Split creates separate files, and Extract keeps selected pages.
- Save a new PDF and review its pages. Your original file is unchanged. Keep your editable desin project if you plan to make more design changes.
Can I change existing text inside an uploaded PDF?
Not currently. desin does not import arbitrary PDFs as editable text and shapes, replace words in their existing layout, or offer secure redaction. To change the original wording, edit the source document or recreate the page in the browser design editor. This distinction matters: reorganizing PDF pages does not edit their contents.
Choose the PDF tool for your task
Merge PDF joins multiple files in a chosen order. Split PDF saves pages separately. Extract pages creates one document from selected page ranges. Organize PDF moves, removes and rotates pages. Images to PDF turns JPEG or PNG files into a document, and PDF to text reads an existing selectable text layer—it does not perform OCR.
Private processing, with practical limits
The PDF utilities run on your device, with no document upload or account required. They accept up to 20 input files, 50 MiB total and 100 PDF pages, depending on the tool. Encrypted files, interactive forms and signed PDFs are unsupported. Rebuilding pages can remove bookmarks, attachments, accessibility tags and document-level metadata. Keep the original and check the result.
Questions before you begin
Can I edit a PDF for free?
You can organize, merge, split and extract existing PDF pages for free. You can also create and edit desin designs and export PDFs free. In-place text editing of arbitrary uploaded PDFs is not supported.
Can I edit scanned documents?
The PDF page tools can manipulate supported pages, but PDF to text requires a text layer. There is no scan OCR or scan-to-editable-layout feature in these tools.
Are files uploaded?
No for manual PDF tools, canvas editing or export. Optional AI sends the consented prompt and relevant text/layout to our service, with the retention and training use described in our privacy notice.
