How to watermark a PDF online
- Choose one PDF.
- Type your watermark text, such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL. Set its size, color, opacity and angle, and place it in the center, at the top or bottom, or tile it across the page.
- Choose a page range or leave it blank for every page, then add the watermark and download the new PDF.
Limits and what to expect
- Unencrypted PDFs only, up to 50 MiB and 100 pages. Interactive forms and signed PDFs are rejected. Each operation stops after two minutes.
- Watermark text uses bold Helvetica and supports basic Latin letters, digits and punctuation, up to 80 characters. Image watermarks are not available.
- Tiling is capped at 600 copies per page; choose a larger size for very large pages.
Can someone remove the watermark?
A watermark is ordinary text drawn on top of the page. It discourages casual reuse and marks drafts clearly, but anyone with a PDF editor can remove or cover it. It is not copy protection, encryption or a signature.
Will it hide my content?
The watermark sits above the page content. Lower opacity (20–35%) keeps the page readable. Check the result before sharing.
Does it work on rotated pages?
Yes. Placement and angle follow the page as displayed, so a 45° watermark looks the same on portrait, landscape and rotated pages.
Do my files leave my device?
No. These tools run locally in your browser. Choose up to 50 MiB of input and 100 PDF pages. No account, upload, or AI request is required.
